Volunteers Needed for Ragweed Removal

A note from the Ridgeway Garden Club - 

The Kiwanis KeyClub and the Ridgeway Garden Club are again working together to improve the environment in the Cardinal Way Pond. This time there is an additional incentive of $10 per supervised hour worked over the next couple weeks.

We have some people signed up at the following time and need more helpers at these times:

This FRIDAY Aug 26  11AM to 2PM  (12:30 refreshment break) Optional hours continue until 4PM

This Saturday Aug 27 2PM to 5PM   (3:30 refreshment break)  Optional hours continue until 6:30PM

The following are the goals in order of priority:

1) cutting tops of mature Ragweed and bagging the tops; stacking the rest of those plants in piles for burning;

2) Pulling out very young Ragweed and stacking them for burning, (shaking off any significant soil); 

LOCATION DIRECTIONS: The Cardinal Way Pond is on the East side of Ridgeway. It is West and downhill from the homes being built on Cardinal Way.  You may park on Tallman Court 

What to bring: Wearing light weight long pants and solid shoes are suggested. Gloves are required.

All High schoolers and adults are welcome to join the effort. RSVP is appreciated, but not required. You will need to sign in with your name and phone number to call in case of emergency.
